The management team is currently pivotting to AI native engineering as if the agents won't just generate the same technical debt we have been fighting since the 2014 monolith migration. Calling it vibe engineering is a nice touch though because it really captures the feeling of helplessness I have when I am forced to debug a codebase that nobody actually wrote. I have seen this movie before and it usually ends with me losing my weekend to a production incident that an LLM guided hyperparameter optimizer thought was a great idea.
